Michikazu Hara obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemistry at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1992. In 1997, Dr. Hara joined Chemical Resources Laboratory, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1997. In 2006, as a Professor, he moved to the Materials and Structures Laboratory in Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was awarded fifth Scientific American 50 (2006).
